Mark:     Hi, this Mark from TheDVCC TV, and today I’m going to give you a quick tip if you ever have elbow pain.  So a lot of people in general, even if they don’t exercise, get elbow pain, they get tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and you don’t have to have played golf or have played tennis to get either of those ailments, and they are very painful, and they are quite restrictive. I know of a chap who I trained for seven years, and he’ll be watching this, the films, and he had elbow pain for a long time, he doesn’t have it any more, but he did it was very impacted his life a fair bit, and it is very uncomfortable.

And now I wanted to give you a quick tip, something that you can do, if you have elbow pain, something that will help you.  I lot of people don’t realize this, by strengthening their forearms, they’re going to take the pressure off their elbow.  So, and forearms, in people are generally very weak because I mean, who has, who do works, workouts for their forearms?  Most people’s grip is very weak, and it puts a lot of strain and stress on their elbows.

So something that you can do to help with strengthening up your forearms and therefore taking the pressure off your elbows is doing some grip training.  Now there’s loads of different types of grip training we have you obviously, your wrists can move in many different directions and you do have to exercise your wrists in those directions.  So if I’m strong in that position, I’m not necessarily going to be strong in that position, so you’ll want to be varying your grip.

But something you can do and I’m just going to … this is simply a skipping rope because I wanted to show you that can do it with lots of different types of equipment, nothing specific for your forearms.  Just squeezing, and make sure you’re just squeezing my hand, my forearm, and basically improving my forearm strength.  So that’s going to take pressure off my elbow.  OK, so that’s a simple exercise.  You can use it with tennis balls are very good, squash ball when you’re stronger to squeeze and pretty much take, the stress off your elbow by increasing the strength in your forearm.

That’s one exercise.  You want to, like I say hold it at different angles or  another one is simply you put your arm.  You can use your arm or you can use a bench, whatever it is, and a dumbbell, and pretty much just rotate your rest there.  You can do different angles.  And it’s something that you can do with a tin of beans, because you’re forearm’s probably not going to be that strong, this is actually probably as heavy as a tin of beans anyway, this dumbbell, and you’re basically improving your strength in your forearm to release the pressure off your elbow.

A little known fact, but it is very effective.  Give it a try now, let me know if you have elbow pain, I’ll be able to give you a few more tips in the comments if you go over to TheDVCC.com, leave a comment there now, and I’ll be able to get back to you.

This Mark from TheDVCC TV, bye bye.
