Plan backwards to look the best you can at your special event..

Mark:     Hi this is Mark from TheDVCC TV, and today I’m going to give you a quick tip if you have a special event coming up, and you want to plan to look and feel as good as you can on that day.  So, summer will be around the corner, it’s not too far away  and with it probably comes birthdays, weddings especially, and you probably want to look and feel as good as you can on that day.

Now, what a lot of people do is they start thinking, I need to exercise now, I need to do nutrition and they don’t really have a plan.  I want to help you with that plan, and the first thing you want to do is write down the date of the event, and what we’re going to do is work backwards from that event.

So imagine it was say on the 21st of June, you have an event, a wedding, or whatever it is write that down, we’re going to work backwards.  What you need to do, the question you need to ask yourself is what do I need to have done by the 21st of June to ensure that I feel and look as a good as I want to look?

So, we’re going to work on the habits that are going to get you there.  21St of June, we work backwards: it might be that you need to exercise four times a week that needs to become a habit, so we can work on that as a single habit; it might be that you need to eat a high protein or a high fat breakfast, because if you do that from now until the event, you’re going to have lost the weight or increased your muscle tone to make you feel and look as you, as you want to.

So, the really important thing is that you write it down.  Studies have shown that thinking of a goal produces far less results than thinking of a goal and then writing it down. So, always be sure to write it down to make it real.

So, write down the event, the date, and then work backwards from that date, and we’ll be able to work on the habits that are going to get you there.
