It is important to distinguish what the aim is when embarking on any form of exercise and nutrition program, particularly when investing your time and money into working with a personal trainer.

I will assume that if you are reading this your main aim is fat loss and physical transformation.

A typical personal trainer: 

  • CustomerRetention2Typically train you for 6o minutes which has been shown to raise cortisol (your stress hormone) that can cause muscle breakdown and fat storage around your stomach area.
  • A good perception of personal attention by spending time one to one with you.
  • Has not been able to build a “process” that has proven effectiveness with clients due to low time in the industry and lack of further learning.
  • Very little if any nutritional guidance offered with the training. Without nutritional changes you will not produce a physically leaner, healthier body.
  • Spends as much time talking to other people and texting than focusing on you.
  • Does not follow a structured changing training plan. The sessions change in emphasis every time, which results in muscle confusion NOT adaption.
  • No training process. You will end up doing the current training program that the personal trainer is doing themselves. This will not be optimal for you unless you are the same age, have the same physique, the same stress levels and stand on your feet all day training clients like they do.
