When Should Cortisol Be Present In Your Body?
Hi. This is Mark Gray from the DoubleVision Conditioning Centre. In today’s video, I’m going to tell you when your body should actually be producing Cortisol, the stress hormone, and when it shouldn’t be.

Cortisol in the Morning Keeps You Going Through the Day
Now, when you wake up, your body wants to be making you jump out of bed. You want to be full of beans and literally jumping out of bed ready for the day. This is caused by Cortisol, so you want to actually have a high amount of Cortisol in the morning. And as you go through the day, this was to
gradually reduce, until in the evening it’s very, very low and it allows you to sleep.

The Cortisol Inverse Ratio Phenomenon
Now a lot of people actually have what’s called an “inverse ratio” of Cortisol so they’re actually producing high amounts of Cortisol at the wrong times in the day. This means that they struggle to sleep and perhaps actually struggle to get up in the morning. There are a lot of simple things that you can do
to sort this out, and I’m going to let you know in the next few videos what these can be. If you have any comments or any questions, please put your details in the box below.
