Hi. This is Stephen from TheDVCC.com and today, I am going to be talking about “Supersize V Superskinny.”

“Calories In And Calories Out”

Now I get a lot of questions about this. I know it is a great TV show, one at the moment, or when I say great TV show, there is a TV show on that moment and a lot of people wonder why on that show, they are talking a lot about calories in and calories out. However, when we talk about weight loss, we really try and avoid talking about calories in and calories out.

Hormonal Impact of Foods

Now when you look at things, what speaks to me, when they are taking someone over quite large size, quite a large weight to lose, then cutting down their calories is going to make them lose weight. However, when you look at calories in v calories out, you are really looking at the world kind of like through a straw because you are ignoring the hormonal impact of food. So basically whatever food you are taking, it has an impact on your hormones. So to compare a thousand calories from, say a McDonald’s hamburger to a thousand calories from a coconut, those two types of food have massive different impact within your body. So one is going to encourage insulin-resistant diabetes, cancers and things like that. The other one is actually going to encourage fat loss, muscle gain, and a healthier, healthier body.

Calorie Counting Versus Types Of Foods

So the one thing is that, to a certain extent when you are looking at massive or people that have a lot of weight to lose, then yes, dropping their calories down will have an impact. However, if you are looking at food for health and long-term sustained weight loss, then looking at the type of food is much, much more important than looking at how many calories you are taking in, because actually by eating whole foods, what you find is the whole natural foods are very nutrient-dense but not calorie-dense, therefore you will actually never really have to worry about overeating healthy sources of food because nature is naturally taking care of that for you by not making them supercalorific.
