The gluten free myth...Its enveloping us all. The Daily Mail seemed to go on a campaign recommending their readers eat gluten free products whenever possible.

But what is the truth?

The problem with this is that all or most of the gluten free options that you find in the supermarkets contain an extremely high amount of sugar.

Manufacturers have replaced any gluten containing products with rice, which is much less allergenic for most people, however, they also throw in an awful lot of sugar.

A lot of people assume that just by eating gluten free food - which you will have noticed is much more available in supermarkets nowadays - that they will lose weight because they have heard that gluten is bad for them and they know that eating excess amounts of gluten can cause fat gain.

When you look at the actual sugar content of these foods, you will find that they have an excessive amount which sugar which has a negative impact on your health and weight loss.

You will also note that it may be gluten free but it is still refined, so even if it doesn't contain gluten, it is still refined. The best way to think of it is to not have refined food. That includes gluten free products as much as it includes gluten containing products.

A mantra for you to remember - Eat Single ingredient foods
