The BEST Diet You Can Do Today!

“Hey! What’s the best diet?!”

We get asked this A LOT and we say the same thing every time… there is no best diet.

Or if you’d like to think about it a different way; the best diet is the one you can stick to. Now we don’t necessarily mean Keto, Fasting, Low Carb etc. when we say diet in that context. Moreso, just the foods you are consuming. The above ‘diets’ all have their merits and downfalls. The reality is most you hear about are quite extreme and that why they make the headlines. We are drawn to the extreme.

In reality, extreme rarely works. And when it does it’s because someone can commit completely. Think actors who’s sole purpose for the 6 month prior to filming is to be in the best shape of their lives. Not many of us are afforded such luxury in time. We have normal lives and fitting those levels of training and diet in just aren’t reasonable (let alone enjoyable or sustainable!).

At The DVCC we focus on the everyday. You and me.

Our advice? Consider how you FEEL when eating a certain way. Try changing things up, cutting carbs down a bit in exchange for more fats? Maybe a higher protein diet for a bit? Compare how you feel when you make these changes in combination with how feasible it is for you to do long-term. If you don’t feel great, or find it tiring to keep on top of, it’s not for you (and that’s ok).

Keep making small changes, create some new habits around nutrition e.g. no food after 8pm and stop trying to flip the table every few months and start again! This is a sure-fire way to go too hard and burn out.

Take it slow, change one thing at a time and implement it into your daily habits. Before you realise you’re living a happier and healthier life but it doesn’t feel like anymore effort… because it isn’t!
