My name is Christo and I have just turned 49. I think this is my eighth week at the DVCC.
I came here because I needed to get stronger in work, I own a pub and went to move a barrel and it was heavier than usual. So, I needed to gain a bit more strength and while I am at it, get fit.
I haven’t done anything for 25, 30 years so I haven’t been training at all. I thought because I was working on my feet, I was fit but as it turns out, i’m not!
How have a changed in the past 8 weeks? Loads! I’ve got strength back, I’ve already beaten my first goal which was to be able to lift a beer barrel properly and not hurt myself. So that’s been fantastic!
I feel fitter, I feel stronger, mentally I have been fantastic. I’m making personal gains every single time I come and, it’s working.
My happiest moment was doing 40 press-ups in 30 seconds. When I started 8 weeks ago, I managed 5 in the warm up. They timed me in my last session, last week and it was 40. So I am gobsmacked by that!
I would recommend DVCC to anybody. It’s not only about fitness and strength, it’s about going into your diet, going into really what makes you tick.
The main reason I would recommend it, just having turned 49, it made me feel like a kid again, all those endorphins going around my body. You feel good, for free!
