Personal Trainer Northampton - What Does The England V Wales Rugby Match Have In Common With Fat Loss?

As I sit here getting ready for this afternoons rugby match, gradually getting more and more excited to see England take another step towards The 6 Nations Championship. I started thinking about the comparisons between the players that will take the pitch today and your fat loss journey.

How can there be any comparisions between world class athletes and us "normal people" with families, jobs and the stresses and strains that can sometimes come with them?


Similarity #1 Delayed Gratification

Every single rugby player on the pitch didn't just wake up one day and become good enough to play for their country. The average player will have been working every single day towards playing for their country. Eating what they need to eat to recover, missing out on family occasions and nights out with their friends knowing, that they couldn't do that and still achieve their rugby dreams.

Whilst I'm not suggesting it takes 10 years to transform your physique, however, there are times where it is hard to see progress and you have to keep doing the things you know you need to do to achieve your goals without getting any form of gratification in visible results. (Through times like these it often helps to focus more on the way your daily actions make you feel, rather than looking for constant physical change)

Similarity #2 They Never Let A Set Back Keep Them Down

What sets these players apart from other club players that didn't make it, is not that their journey has been trouble free and everything has worked out for them. They have all had their fair share of injuries, knock backs, times they weren't picked or thought that they were never going to overcome their obstacles.

But what they didn't do was give up. This relates to someones physical transformation perfectly. How many people just give up when the progress stops, or you get an injury that sets you back? This is what myself and my Personal Trainer Northampton colleagues make sure DVCC clients do not do.

I'd bet there can be alot more simiarities drawn between the players in todays rugby game and achieving a physical transformation, I'd be interested to know of any others you can think of. Let me know in the comments below!
