Did you know that after we turn 30, without consistent resistance training, you begin to lose as much as 3% to 5% of your muscle mass every 10 years?
Mike was tired of not feeling as strong as he used to.
Mike had always been fit and used to participate in numerous county runs but after retiring, could feel himself becoming weaker... But not anymore!
Whereas Mike's knees were preventing him from running, he has managed to rebuild that muscle and has regained his bounce!
"I feel like a different guy!"
By being able to train at a pace that suited him, Mike is now regularly training, rebuilding his strength, staying active and keeping to a programme that works for him.
“I enjoy exercise, I've always been fit, and when my muscle started to disappear, it was feeling really strange.Statins and things like that, gradually make you weaker and weaker and I needed to build muscle back because I was finding I was getting weak.
I used to do a lot of county running and stuff and so I really just couldn't understand why I couldn't run. But now, the bounce is back and I'm a different guy! It's really brilliant!
They are just so professional here which is really good. You can work slowly through it as well and build it up. If you can't lift the big weights, don't lift the big weights, lift the smaller weights until you are able to lift the big weights and it all works.
Before, I was starting to feel quite tired at the end of the day. I feel fit as a fiddle at the end of the day now, I feel very good! I think there is a lot of people who think "Oh no, I'm past it and just want to sit down…" Well that is just going to make it worse.
I'm 73. You are never too old to have a go!”
