Martin suffers with sleep apnoea and found that he would find himself passing away up to 30 times per night…

…He decided that it was time for things to change, however he knew that he needed the encouragement and accountability to keep coming to a gym consistently.

When Martin got in touch with The DVCC, he was immediately met by the kind of positive support he was looking for. 5 months on, Martin is training consistently and has far more energy to play with is grandkids!

The support from The DVCC community has also given Martin a new found group of friends and allowed him to enjoy the things he loves most even more!

 

 

“I was diagnosed as a diabetic, and I suffer with sleep apnea. And I was told that the only way I could improve either of them would be to lose weight.

My recorded sleep apnea was that I was passing away 30 times a night.

I've been here for 5 months now, and I'm enjoying every bit of it! I've got more energy. I can actually play with my grandkids these days, I've got a great new group of friends here. I'm finding that I'm just enjoying myself a lot more!

It wasn't until about a month ago or so that my daughter took a photo of me and compared it with one from 10 months ago That I realised exactly how much I've lost! I did not think that I had done anything at all! But all of a sudden, there is a difference!

The motivation that you get here from all of the staff, and the other people who take part, no one is here to be a muscle man or there is no bodybuilders, no "look who I am”, everybody is here just to get fitter and improve their lives!
