Losing the winter weight…What’s the next step?

Christmas has come and gone and if, like many of us, that dreaded fear of ‘what next’ has already begun sinking in, don’t panic! It is completely normal to have a bit more fun over the holidays and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about having a great time!

But now you are looking for the next steps. Here are 3 quick tips to make sure that you say so long, to that winter belly for good!

1) DON'T PANIC!

The VERY first thing that you need to do is NOT slip into a state of panic towards the end of December or the new year. It is important to remember that 2020 is ONLY just getting started and you still have PLENTY of time to work off any weight you would like.

Just because we live in a fast world, where you can get same day delivery and all the information you could possibly want in the touch of a button, we think the same can apply to fitness...Unfortunately not!

That's why staying patient and remaining calm is crucial to making sure that you don't end up abandoning your training altogether!

2) ADJUST YOUR EATING HABITS

We've all been there...Christmas, soon runs into January, falls into February and before you know it, you're worried about donning your favourite swimsuit!

As we typically end up eating more over the course of December, it can be difficult to adjust your meal plans back to normal, simply because you'll be craving those un-beneficial foods that little bit more.

If you are feeling like the honey monster and struggling to get out of any sugar cravings, a simple quick tip is to mix some coconut oil into some warm water in the mornings. You'll find that this helps you steer clear of those sugary treats!

3) RESISTANCE AND HIIT TRAINING

There is no better way to stay on top of your results than by continuing your regular training! High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and resistance work are the best two ways around this!

If you can average around 2-3 sessions a week, that is MORE than enough to help you see a complete body transformation!

So there you have it! 3 SIMPLE, EASY and EFFICIENT ways to begin losing your Christmas belly and leave yourself stress free, so you can get 2020 off on a fantastic front foot!
