KETOGENIC DIETING: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Ketogenic diets are all the rage right now across the internet, you might have seen some of the amazing results that Keto can give you and think that this is the diet for you. But just before you jump in, there are a few things to consider beforehand!

1) IT’S HARD… REALLY HARD!

Keto is one of the most restrictive diets around. There are no cheat meals, no variety and no shortcuts. If you can’t imagine giving up carbs for the rest of your life (yes, even at Christmas!) then Keto most likely isn’t right for you.

However, one of the benefits to come out of a Ketogenic diet has been its relationship to treating various diseases and illnesses. With an increasing level of studies showing that for various forms of cancers, Keto can be beneficial. However, this is not a reason to start Keto and should be something you speak to your doctor or a medical consultant about.

Do you enjoy food and variety with your meals? If so, this way of eating is definitely not the right choice for you. You'll be sticking to a very strict diet plan which means that even things like going out for dinners can be a little tough.

However, on the flip side, if you DO thrive on a fixed, restrictive structure and are happy with eating the same thing day in day out, Keto can have its benefits.

3) CAN YOU SUSTAIN IT?

Instead of looking for a quick solution, you should instead be focusing on a long term and sustainable, nutrition plan that WORKS FOR YOU.

Keto may be the big fad right now, but don’t just jump blindly on the bandwagon.

Look into ketogenic diet plans and ask yourself how could you SUSTAIN it for the rest of your life? If not, try to formulate a plan which instead does work for you and aims to target the base level habits that will get you to where you can to be and that you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life.
