Is a past injury stopping you from reaching your fitness goals? Katrina felt the same. 

After breaking her ankle and being diagnosed with osteoporosis, she was worried about coming to a gym in fear of causing any more damage…

…But as soon as she walked through the door, her worries were gone.

Working alongside her physiotherapist, a personalised rehabilitation program was created to help her with any pains and concerns she had.

Every exercise was adapted to suit her needs and since then, Katrina has lost over 3 stone and has even thrown away her bigger clothes!

"I’ve lost about 3 stone - I’ve actually thrown away my bigger clothes now

I was attending an outdoor bootcamp and I broke my ankle. All weathers you would be outside it would be dark and wet and I just thought, this isn’t for me. I just didn’t feel comfortable.

I got diagnosed with osteoporosis, so that made me even more fearful of falling and breaking anything else so I just started looking for something indoors.

One of the things that I like about The DVCC is that when you have your little injuries, they will always adapt things to suit you so you can still train.

I had a bad back once and I didn’t come in, one of the trainers rang me and said “Where are you?” He said it would probably help you to come into the gym and I did and it did! It really helped!

I have actually got tendonitis in my elbow at the moment. They took advice from the physio of things that I can do, things that I can’t do, they are just always adapting, which is really helpful.

You come in and you don’t have to think about anything, you’re just taken through your session.

We’re not just strangers to each other, people who train here, we all work together and enjoy other people’s improvements as well.”
