How To Keep Your Motivation Through 2019!

We’ve all been there, we walked into 2019 thinking this is going to be the best year ever...

...Then all of those new years resolutions begin to grind to a halt......and you find yourself to be slowly seeping into 2018 habits again…

If you’re finding that it’s got to February and you’re losing your motivation to reach your goals, here are a few quick tips to make sure that you stay on track and ensure you succeed!

1) Focus on what you’ve achieved so far

It’s easy to be intimidated by the 11 months ahead of you, but it is important to remember how far you have already come in 2019! Perhaps you’ve started exercising for the first time this year, have started a new hobby or have overcome something life has thrown at you! These are all amazing accomplishments and should not be overlooked. 

2) Set mini goals

Did you want to lose 2 stone this year? That’s a big goal and is not going to happen overnight! By focusing too much on your end goal, you can find yourself feeling very demotivated as the end result feels so far away.

Instead, set yourself a series of mini-goals that might take no more than a week, 21 days or even just the month. Perhaps your goal could be to just train 12 times during the month, no matter the result!

By setting yourself mini-goals to reach within 30 days, you will be able to give yourself enough time to adhere to those goals without losing motivation for your 'main' goal! Essentially, you want to be able to try to focus on integrating habits into your daily routine instead of focusing just on the motivation that will get you there!

3) Processes!

You may have these highly ambitious goals that seem pretty far away and that’s great! Ambition is a good thing! However, try to focus on the processes (the things you do daily) which are actually going to help you get there.

Perhaps it’s I want to lose 7lbs this month or exercise a certain amount of times. By making these goals far smaller, it makes them much easier to achieve and will keep you motivated!

So cut yourself some slack! 2019 is still only just beginning and by following the tips above, you’ll still be able to make sure 2019 is your BEST YEAR EVER!
