How Much Fruit Should I Have?

Health, Cravings, Detox

eat-fruitsFruit is an interesting discussion point because on one hand it is a healthy food, however, it's not necessarily an optimal food for fat loss. This obviously then makes it less healthy by causing a lack of fat loss or, in fact, can cause fat gain. I have seen people who have had too much fruit a day and gain fat because of that.

You want to limit the amount of fruit you have, IF fat loss is your goal. One serving of fruit at breakfast time, in the morning time, is a good amount to stick to.

For example, a small apple or a handful of blueberries is a good amount to have if you are wanting to lose weight. Ideally you would have low GI fruits like blueberries or apples, not bananas.

But the key to remember is also that the closer you are to your fat loss aim, so how you want to look, then the more fruits you're able to have per day. If you are quite away from where you want to be, you want to reduce your fruit intake potentially even more, so half a serving at breakfast.

As you gradually get the way you want to be, you can increase your fruit and then you are able to see how that affects your body better.
