Have You Lost Confidence As You Have Got Older? See How Tummie Has Regained Hers!

Health, Case Study, Nutrition, Exercise, Weight loss, Training

Matthew: Good morning, this is Matthew from the DVCC in Northampton and I’m here with Tummie Mothlabane and I’m just going to ask you a few questions, to see how you got such amazing results.

So if you want to just introduce yourself, how old are you and how long have you been at the DVCC?

Tummie: Hi, my name is Tummie Mothlabane, I am 44 years old and I have been with the DVCC about a month and a half?

Matthew: 5 weeks now, just over 5 weeks? Good – so if you could please tell me, Tummie, to begin with, what results have you achieved since you’ve been here?

Tummie: So far I have *lost 8.8lbs of fat and gained 2.4lbs of lean weight.

Matthew: Which is awesome, 2.4lbs of muscle. Well done!

Matthew: So Tummie, if you could just tell me please, what were the difficulties you had before the DVCC, because I’m sure there are literally thousands of people that went through the same thing as you are?

Tummie: With me I think it was more motivation, going to the gym on a regular basis; and diet has always been a big problem for me. And I think I am managing now, with the advice from the DVCC, to get back on track and hopefully get good results.

Matthew: Good – you’re getting awesome results – keep up the good work!

Tummie: Thank you.

Matthew: So, when you tried to *lose weight before, was that through nutrition and exercise, or a combination of the two, or just one or the other?

Tummie: Sometimes just odd diets; and I tried with diet and exercise, but as I said I’ve always had problems with motivation and keeping to my goals.

Matthew: So you said you struggled with motivation and diets – did you do set diets or was it just more healthy eating?

Tummie: It was set diets, with various diet groups out there.

Matthew: So, if you could just please tell me, what does your lifestyle look like now, compared to before the DVCC?

Tummie: At the moment I’m very good with breakfast, which I never was before, and I find that, if I have a good protein breakfast, I don’t think about snacking and I don’t feel hungry until lunchtime comes. And I’m trying to prep my lunch for the week, so I don’t have to think about what I’m going to eat tomorrow because it’s already done at the weekend, I’ve got 5 meals to go; that’s really helpful – helps me stick to the diet. And I’m working out every day now; well, 5 days a week, so that’s good.

New Call-to-action

Matthew: Awesome, well done. So you’re having breakfast, you’re prepping your meals, you’re not feeling like snacking through the day, and you’re training every day – so that’s all those things which are happening that weren’t happening 5 and a half weeks ago, that’s awesome.

So, if you could just tell me please, Tummie, how has the DVCC helped you personally?

Tummie: I think it’s helped me focus on what my goals are and why I want to get there. And it’s a great atmosphere to work out with, the trainers and the other members are very supportive as well; I’ve really enjoyed coming and I can see me doing this for a good long time.

Matthew: Good – it will be good to have you sticking around.

Do you have any specific tips, Tummie, with regards to nutrition or exercise, that you can share with anyone listening who is trying to *lose weight, that you feel has helped you personally?

Tummie: I think being prepared is what it comes down to. If you’re not prepared, then you run the risk of eating whatever is there and usually it isn’t the right choices to make. So if you’ve got everything prepped and you don’t have to think about it too hard, then there’s more chance of succeeding.

New Call-to-action

Matthew: What was the obstacle that would have prevented you from starting your training with the DVCC, or starting training altogether?

Tummie: Just my head; just getting things together in my head, I think. I can’t see any reason why not to do it, to be honest.

Matthew: What excited you the most about the Real You transformation process?

Tummie: The exercise, the exercise sessions, because there’s a different session each time you come, you never know what to expect.

Matthew: Element of surprise.

Tummie: An element of surprise, yes, definitely; makes you come back to see what you’re going to do next. Especially the Saturday ones; I’ve never wanted to work out on a Saturday, but it’s good to get up and do that. Yes, and just good to see your results every week with the progress tracker session; it keeps you motivated, I like that bit.

Matthew: Good, fantastic. What would be 3 other benefits you’ve had since you’ve started training?

Tummie: I feel I’ve got more energy; I’m more confident, I feel I can do a lot more than I could before…

Matthew: Like what, for example?

Tummie: Just get through a training session; I think I’ve always thought it’s going to be too hard, I can’t do it, so I don’t. But yes, I can do that. I’ve not actually seen a physical difference in myself in the way my clothes fit, but I feel more confident about where I am with my body, does that make sense?

Matthew: It does, absolutely.

Tummie: And I feel happier, generally, in myself.

Matthew: Happy is always good. Is there anything you would like to add, Tummie?

Tummie: No really, just to say thank you very much to you guys, for getting me started on this path; and I hope to be here for a long time.

Matthew: I hope so too; keeping together that transformation, awesome.

Thank you very much Tummie, I hope you found this interview helpful; I want to thank you for your time. If you have any questions guys, please comment below and we will answer them. This is Matthew, from the DVCC Northampton, thank you very much.
