Find_Out_How_David_Lost_Just_Under_A_Stone

Matthew:  Hello, this is Matthew from the DVCC and I am here with David Watson. I’m just going to ask you a few questions, hopefully to get an insight into how you’ve got such great results. So if you could please introduce yourself David, and tell us how long you have been at the DVCC?

David_WatsonDavid:  I’m David, I’m 37 and I’ve been coming to the DVCC for about two and a half months.

Matthew:  So, if you can just tell me what have been any difficulties that you have had, as I am sure that there are literally thousands of people who have found themselves in the same position as you were?

David:  I had just been gradually gaining weight over a long period of time and got to the point after Christmas where I thought “I need to do something about this”, so I saw the DVCC and thought I would come along.

Matthew:  Awesome, David. So if you can just very quickly tell us what results have you achieved since you have been here?

David:  I have *lost 13.6lbs of body fat and gained 6.1lbs of muscle, and my body fat percentage has gone from 25.8%, down to 17.1%.

Matthew:  Awesome, good work from you - that is very good work. What were your struggles with weight *loss before the DVCC?

David:  Doing anything about gaining weight was my major struggle. I hadn’t particularly tried, but I was very conscious that I was gradually gaining a bit of weight.

Matthew:  Had you tried to *lose weight before?

David:  Only for very short periods and immediately prior to a holiday, something like that.

Matthew:  How did that go?

David:  Fine for the kind of… what I used to do was, occasionally, the first two weeks of the Atkins diet, and so I could lose maybe 6 or 7 lbs of weight, then put it all back on over a weekend.

Matthew:  Like you just said, obviously you did the Atkins previously; was that the only diet you have ever tried or have you ever tried any other diets?

David:  Not any structured diet really; I’ve always been quite interested in nutrition, what I eat and cooking.

Matthew:  But never any structured diet?

David:  No, not at all, no.

Matthew:  So when you say you tried to *lose weight previously, before holidays or for a couple of weeks, was that through nutrition or exercise, or a combination of both?

David:  Only ever nutrition, never exercise.

Matthew:  What does your lifestyle look like now, compared to before the DVCC?

David:  Very different, because I am coming here 4 or 5 times a week rather than sat at home watching TV, drinking red wine. And so I wake up earlier in the morning, probably feeling a bit better about getting out of bed in the morning, and then various different habits; I eat breakfast, I didn’t before; I drink apple cider vinegar which I never have done before; yes, things like that.

Matthew:  Awesome. So how has the DVCC helped you personally?

David:  It has helped me *lose the weight that I had gained and yes I guess I do feel more energetic; certainly in the mornings I’ve noticed that; either through a combination of doing physical exercise or the fact that I am here and not at home or in a restaurant. I don’t think about my work when I’m at home, which is much healthier.

New Call-to-action

Matthew:  Good, so you just feel far better personally, individually.

David:  Yes and I feel that kind of satisfaction that I am doing something positive for myself, by myself; well not entirely by myself, but you know what I mean?

Matthew:  Good. Do you have any specific tips, with nutrition or exercise, that you can share with anyone who is listening and who is trying to *lose weight?

David:  In terms of exercise, I’ve never enjoyed exercise, I have always avoided exercise. But I joined here for the 6 week programme initially; I thought to myself, “That’s fine, you don’t have to enjoy it, you just have to do it.” But of course I have joined now for a year, I do enjoy coming. I wouldn’t have known that unless I actually committed initially.

Matthew:  Good. And you do enjoy the exercises and the sessions.

David:  Well it’s a double edged sword! I really don’t enjoy them in the moment that I’m doing them…

Matthew:  But you enjoy the benefits.

David:  Yes,

Matthew:  Awesome. Do you have any final words David, anything that you want to say?

David:  Only that by trying it and committing to it for a short time has made a lot of difference …

Matthew:  So try it and see how it goes, try it and then get into it?

David:  Yes, certainly.

Matthew:  Perfect, awesome. Thank you very much David, I hope you found the interview helpful; I want to thank you for your time. Please comment below with any questions and we will get back to you. This is Matthew from the DVCC Northampton; thank you for listening.
