All of these results have been down to the Metabolic Damage Solution; this was formulated by the DVCC to address damage which can be done to your metabolism. The Metabolic Damage Solution is a proven success and helps to reset your metabolism and realign your hormones to work in the correct manner for fast and healthy fat loss. It has also been shown to reduce inflammation within your body, which significantly improves your health and reduces the risk of disease.

So today we have a question from Joan: "If i eat a lower amount of carbohydrates, won't my energy levels be lower?"

This is a question which is asked time and time again and is a common concern of many people who want to reduce their carbohydrate intake to positively influence their fat loss.

Eating low carb will not effect your energy levels in the long run. In the short term, for the first week or so, you may experience slightly lowered energy levels. This is due to your body changing the way it produces energy, from using sugar as fuel to using fat instead.

Typically, a low carb diet would be a diet which consists of less than 50 grams of carbs per day. These carbs should come from vegetables and fruit, such as berries and other low glycemic index fruit.

When you start eating low carb, your body is forced to adapt from burning glucose for energy to burning fat. Be aware if your natural fat intake is not high enough and consumed with every meal, your energy levels will be considerably lower.

If you aim to eat some natural fat sources with every meal, you will find the whole process of switching to a low carb way of eating a lot easier.

Avocado_nuts_oliveoil_high_vitaminE-1024x682The fats you should include within your diet are: omega 3 fats from coconut oil, olive oil, olives, avocados and nuts.

When eating low carb, you need to eat plenty of vegetables, especially green leafy ones. Many people make the mistake of tarring vegetables with the same brush as pasta, bread and potato.

Vegetables are carbohydrates; however, they affect the fat storage hormone insulin in a very different way and don't elevate your blood sugar levels in such a rapid way.

Vegetables are some of the most nutrient packed foods available and play a major role in reducing inflammation in the body and preventing disease.  Low carb veg cannot be overeaten and will help to fill your plate and stomach.

So, have plenty of low carb veg with every meal. Some options on low glycemic carbs are: any green vegetables, tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, cucumber, green beans, cabbage, asparagus, mushrooms and bok choi. The list goes on..

When you change to eating less carbs on a day to day basis, your body will start to detoxify. Your fat stores are where a lot of toxins are held, and when you start burning fat these toxins are released. This can cause you to feel a little under the weather and cause the occasional headache. This won't last long, so don't let it throw you off track. After a week, you will have detoxified and will feel like a completely new person.

simple-eatingTo sum up: eating low carb will not effect your energy levels in the long term. The first days can be a bit tricky, but hang in there. Make sure to eat plenty of natural fats and green vegetables and your energy levels will not cause you an issue

I am going to leave you with our question of the day - what is your favourite vegetable?

Until next time, this is Nathan at the DVCC.
