DVCC TV Show #23 - What Is The Best Source Of Protein From Food?

Protein, DVCC TV Show, Fat Loss

Hi, I'm Sam from the DVCC.

Welcome to the weekly DVCC TV show where we can inform you on things that are happening at the centres, update you with some amazing results that our clients are achieving and answer questions about health, fitness and nutrition for losing body fat and building muscle tone.

If you have any questions regarding fat loss or building muscle tone which you would like us to answer for you, please leave them in the comment section below and we will answer them in the future.

Today we have a question from Derek, who asks, “What is the best source of protein from food?”

That is a very good question Derek.

Proteins are used to make bone, skin, nails, hair and muscle cells. They play a role in the production of enzymes which are involved in every function of the body.

Eating protein triggers protein synthesis and building of muscle tissue, so it’s warranted that we think highly of it in the athletic world, and eating adequate amounts can improve body composition, eliminate hunger and reduce body fat.

Protein lives up to the esteem by improving brain function, aiding in many aspects of health, including blood pressure, cardio vascular health, disease prevention, sleep and longevity, which are often unknown benefits within the general population.

So eating a good amount of protein is essential for burning fat and building muscle tone. The best protein sources are lean meats and fish, for example chicken, turkey, salmon and grass fed beef, such as steaks and mincemeat.

There are also options for people who are vegetarian; these include eggs, cottage cheese, quinoa, nuts, dried beans (such as kidney beans), lentils and chickpeas. It is strongly recommended that vegetarians supplement with a protein powder, to increase their daily intake.

Our question of the week for this week is, “What is your favourite source of protein?”

This is Sam from the DVCC; have a good day.
