Eliminate all added sugar from your diet - Refined sugar is the devil of nutrition. You want to avoid it at all costs.

The best way to do this is only eat food that you have prepared yourself and avoid prepared prepackaged food, which brings us to the next tip.

Eliminate all processed foods from your diet - Processed foods are cheap, unhealthy and terrible for loosing weight.

They normally contain high levels of sugar, additives and flavourings to make up for the lack of taste due to the lack of good quality food sources used to make them. 

Simple Fat Loss Tip #3

Fat is your friend - Eating more calories from fat sources will help you burn more fat and give you more natural energy. The fats you would want to consume more of are the healthy omega 3 fats found in: grass feed beef, fish, organic poultry, nuts, coconut oil, olive oil and avocados.

Fat contains 9 calories per gram but the majority of these calories are used in ways which are beneficial for health and as long as carb intake is low will not be stored as body fat.

Simple Fat Loss Tip #4

Eat high quality protein often - Always try to buy the best quality meat and protein sources that are available to you. Factory produced meats will go through processes which result in a deterioration in the quality of what you eat.

Always try to buy grass feed meat and free range chicken/eggs. Protein has been scientifically proven to keep you fuller for longer and reduces your appetite.

Your body needs protein as a basic requirement for life, as it is used to repair body tissue.

Try to eat a small amount of protein with every meal, alternating what types of protein you consume from meal to meal.

Simple Fat Loss Tip #5

Eliminate wheat and restrict grains -  Many people are intolerant to wheat which causes an elevation in your stress hormone and inflammation. Wheat also raises your blood sugar at an alarmingly fast rate, causing insulin to be released and a fat storage process to begin within your body.

Try to reduce the amount of grains in your diet, if you are going to eat grains favour whole grains - such as whole grain rice and quinoa.

Simple Fat Loss Tip #6

Drink plenty of waterThis will help to detoxify your body and help you stay hydrated. Hydration is very important for fat loss as when you are sufficiently hydrated your body will be more likely to use fat as fuel as apposed to sugar. Avoid fruit juices, cordials, sports drinks and alcohol.

Fruit juices contain a high amount of fructose which is the natural sugar found in fruit but have none of the fibre that you would find in fruit. Alcohol will dehydrate you and causes your body to store fat as it will not metabolise anything until the alcohol in your system has been dealt with.

Stick with water, green tea (flavoured green tea is great if you don't like plain green tea) and one black coffee a day (preferably before training).
