Want to know how you can have your alcohol and not gain weight over Christmas?

With the festivities well under way I know I did! 🤪

So I started looking into what the best alcoholic drinks are to minimise weight gain.......And here they are!!!

1) RED WINE: If you are going to have an alcoholic drink, red wine should be your go to! 

This is because red wine contains resveratrol, an antioxidant which may also help to delay ageing and reduce chronic inflammation. This is why many think of the occasional glass of red wine as being a handy tool for a healthy heart!

2) CLEAR SPIRITS: Emphasis on CLEAR here! 

If you’re more partial to the harder stuff, aim for only high quality clear spirit mixed with soda water with fresh lime or lemon in it (such as vodka and soda, or white rum and DIET cola).

Generally speaking, the more added artificial ingredients you’re putting into your drinks, the more toxins you’re also putting into your body.

3) LIGHT BEER: Approach with caution though!

This is a controversial one, but for all you beer lovers out there, don’t worry, there is an answer for you. Beers definitely aren’t the healthiest option due to the amount of fattening carbs and calories that come along with them, hence the infamous ‘beer belly’… Which is formed because of the rapidly digestible carbs in beer, making beer a big NO when it comes weight loss. 

HOWEVER, if you are going to opt for beers, make sure you’re making the right choices and go for light beers. These remove some of the fast digestible carbs which come with full beers, making them less fattening… but still dangerous in large amounts!
