As I get older I wanted to make sure that my muscles were supporting my bones. I've tried lots of nutrition regimes and lots of fitness regimes. I would do stacks of classes and aerobics classes.

Whenever I've been to the gym and done a session myself I found that I was losing motivation and would do the same thing all the time, i wouldn't really be able and have the knowledge to change it up to get the results that I wanted.

So I wanted to try something where there was someone on you the whole time and making sure that you were doing it right, for a start, but also pushing you on, and making sure that you were actually challenging yourself.

I feel great. I feel much fitter than I think I've ever been actually, which is fantastic. I've achieved the objective of making sure that I'm strong and making sure that I'm supporting my bones - which was the main reason I joined.

Sometimes it’s good to realise how far you've come, and you see the weights you can lift now and how strong you are.

Well there's several reasons I loving coming, but one is the people that are here are fabulous, the trainers are brilliant. They're really friendly, you don't need to worry If you've never done anything before, and they'll tailor everything to your level and they're really encouraging.

You know, it's a great place to train. We all have days when we feel like we don't want to do it, but I don't think I've ever regretted coming and the next day, the next half an hour after I leave, you feel great, you're just really glad you came. So it's definitely worth coming. I really recommend it.

I'm Liz and I'm 50 years old. I joined 2 and a half years ago. I tried lots of other fitness regimes, I've been to the gym lots of times, I've done swimming, I've done lots of other things. But I wanted to do something which involved weights which would help me get strong.
