My name is Ian, I’m 36, a Creative Director and a member of the DVCC since April 2017.

Growing up I was always the slim un-athletic type, with little interest in sport, so joining something like the DVCC had never been on my radar. Sure, I had attempted working out in the past at my local gym but I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and found the environment intimidating, so in my mind that only reinforced the idea that I was not cut-out for it and gave up.

I’d known of the DVCC for 3 years and had met many members and trainers through my partner. There had been gentle encouragement over that time to give it a go but I was still adamant it was not for me.

The turning point came when I really started to think about what it was I would want to achieve. I decided my main objective would be to just feel more energised as I lead busy work & social life - any other results would be a bonus.

Now in this mind-set I decided to sign-up for a 30-day trial. I quickly found out 2 things, firstly that I could easily fit sessions into my week (booking through an app!) and secondly that the environment was inclusive and supportive to people of all capabilities.

By the end of trial, I knew I had finally found something that worked for me. 6 months in and I feel physically so much healthier & happier with my body. The trainers are truly dedicated to what they do too, keeping each session varied & uplifting, it never gets boring.
